2015-2016 Bay Barometer

The Chesapeake Bay Program has released its 2015-2016 Bay Barometer that tracks changes related to the health and condition of the Chesapeake Bay. Significant strides have been made thus far improving water clarity, restoring Bay grasses, and achieving a Blue Crab abundance of 90%. Engagement between the Bay Program and its partners has played a crucial role in the progress made since 2017 but continues to rely on environmental stewardship and community involvement for increased Bay health. The data generated in this report reflect some of the conditions monitored by the Bay Program to better understand our future actions in protecting and restoring this natural resource.
