Be a Citizen Scientist Everyday: iNaturalist and the BioBlitz

Whether you are on your school playground, in your backyard or on a boat, be sure to contribute to our global biodiversity index by sharing your species observations on iNaturalist. iNaturalist may be used via the web or as an application on your smart phone. Simply record your observations and join a community that shares your passion of exploring the natural world for you might be next to discover a new rare species!

Organizing a BioBlitz at your school is an excellent way to engage students in citizen science. A BioBlitz is an intensive survey performed by expert and non-expert scientists to identify different species of plants, animals, and other organisms at a preselected location. Participating helps us to better understand the biodiversity of a particular habitat and provides much excitement while doing so!
